I shot this story for two years and have loads of footage that I've been logging in in FCPX in order to. It's actually easier to find material they want using the FCPX skimmer and other query tools. Hi everyone, I'm an independent documentary maker. This will be slow and tedious but he/she is probably used to that.Īnother alternative would be set up FCPX on a laptop or other machine beside the Avid editor, and they could query it in FCPX then look up the filenames and time offsets in Avid. The Avid editor will have to plow through an Excel spreadsheet or maybe use FindrCat to query the exported FCPX media you've tagged.

FINDRCAT PRO SOFTWARE
The ideal situation would be editing software which is integrated with a database - wait, we have that and it's called FCPX I don't know how that could be imported to Avid. The FCPX event data (favorites, rejects, keywords, etc) can be extracted to a spreadsheet using Producer's Best Friend: Had you used an Excel spreadsheet to log this information the situation would be similar. However you can extract that information using FindrCat and query it from the Mac Finder: /findrcat.html The problem is Avid has no way to represent range-based favorites, rejects and keywords. I shot this story for two years and have loads of footage that I've been logging in in FCPX in order to prepare the edit.My editor is an AVID freak and not ready to move in FCPX.Is there a software, utility or plug in that allows to transform the FCPX library into an AVID project beyond a single timeline ?.
